Pershing Hospital Addition

On September 15, 1955, the Linn County Hospital Association was organized by 17 prominent citizens of Brookfield for the purpose of formulating plans for the building of a new hospital. On January 12, 1960 the doors of the hospital opened to receive its first patient.

In September, 2008, Pershing Health System opened the new 38,000 sq. ft. addition for business making it home to a new Emergency Department, Radiology, Laboratory, Admissions, Community Medical Associates, and Ambulatory/Outpatient Surgery area. The addition also provided a new central plant to serve the entire 72,000 square-foot facility.

Additionallly, 7,000 square feet of the existing building was renovated to accommodate the new construction and provide miscellaneous support spaces.
