HIGH SCHOOLS

Basehor High School

The renovation portion of the project consists of general classrooms, technology labs, general office, and library areas. The addition portion of the project consists of auditorium, commons area, kitchen areas, gymnasium, and locker rooms.

The mechanical system is based on dedicated gas-fired, direct expansion roof top units for each individual space.  Larger spaces, such as the gymnasium, were provided with multiple smaller units.  The general office area renovation is served by a direct expansion, gas-fired roof top unit with VVT zoning controls.

The electrical system is based on 120/208 volts serving HVAC equipment, lighting, and power needs.  The electrical system allows for dedicated clean power for computer loads in the office spaces.  The lighting system design is fluorescent fixtures equipped with energy efficient T8 lamps and solid state ballasts in the office and classroom areas.  The gymnasium is illuminated with HID sources with multiple-level switching.  The auditorium was provided with a computerized theatrical dimming system with control located in the mezzanine control room and backstage.
