HIGH SCHOOLS
Washburn Rural High School
This is a new school for the Washburn Rural School District.
The HVAC system includes a direct expansion VAV roof top unit complete with IAQ controls. The educational areas are conditioned by variable air volume, direct expansion rooftop unit. The heating is via electric heating coils integral to the VAV terminal units. The open return air plenum allows the first stage of heat to be served from the heat of lights transferred to the ceiling plenum.
The electrical system is based on 277/480 volts serving HVAC equipment and lighting with separately derived 120/208 volt systems to serve power needs. The electrical system allows for dedicated clean power for computer loads in the classrooms. The lighting system design is fluorescent fixtures equipped with energy efficient T8 lamps and solid state ballasts.
