MANUFACTURING
Berry Plastics
This project is a new manufacturing plant for Berry Plastic’s Packerware Division. The facility was delivered through a Design/Build method and is located in Lawrence, Kansas.
The mechanical system includes chilled water production for production air conditioning, chilled water for process uses, cooling tower for chiller heat rejection, air compressor heat rejection, and process uses. The system includes compressed air production and distribution, as well as production area heating and air conditioning from a hydronic custom exterior mounted air handling unit.
The electrical system includes dedicated 4,000 amp main switches at 277/480 to support the production lines. Additionally, another 3,000 amp main switch at 277/480 was required to support mechanical systems and lighting. Separately derived 120/208 volt systems were provided to serve general power needs. The production floor lighting system was designed around T5-HO fluorescent high bay fixtures.
