PHARMACEUTICAL
Martec Pharmaceutical
This project was a 16,000 square foot facility constructed in 2003 for Martec Scientific. The facility is located in Kansas City, Missouri and consists of research laboratory space, office spaces, and a four suite oral dosage manufacturing facility.
The building includes automatic neutralization for the production area DWV system, extension of the USP pure water distribution, low dew point product contact grade compressed air distribution, steam production, and clean steam production. The production area ventilation system is comprised of separate HVAC systems serving four production cells with hard balanced differential pressures. The AHU systems are single pass with two units being equipped with desiccant dehumidification to provide 30% RH for tablet pressing operations. The cooling for the building is derived from an air-cooled chiller delivering chilled water to air handling units. Heating for the building is derived from a pair of gas fired scotch marine steam boilers.
The electrical system for the facility is derived from the KCPL distribution system. The production spaces are equipped with water-proof fixtures to facilitate wash down operations. All fluorescent fixtures are provided with solid state ballasts and T8 lamps.
