Healthridge Fitness Center

Healthridge Fitness Center in Olathe, Kansas is the largest single health club facility constructed in the Kansas City metropolitan area.  The 105,000 square-foot state-of-the-art health club includes upscale amenities such as a full spa, children’s play and fitness areas, two indoor pools, multiple courts, specialized yoga, spin and aerobic fitness areas and an extensive weight and fitness area with track.

This facility was designed and constructed to provide an inviting environment to its members and includes a large lounge with fireplace and deli.  The entire facility enjoys sweeping views of the surrounding area.  The locker rooms include oak lockers, private showers, hot tubs and sauna facilities.

The mechanical systems for the facility had to balance diverse environmental requirements with energy efficiency.  Energy recovery systems were coupled with custom air handling equipment to accommodate building ventilation.  The indoor pool areas were of particular environmental interest and in-floor heating, specialized air distribution and triple pane glass were provided to meet the user’s needs.  Since the building housed diverse and specific environmental needs, particular care was placed on temperature zoning.  Industry standard equipment was used in innovative ways to accomplish these needs while providing a system that was cost effective and easy to maintain.
