SMALL OFFICE BUILDINGS
Lenexa Center
This project is a new corporate facility for the Kansas Electric Cooperative. Being a utility company, they were interested in a high efficiency, low operating cost HVAC system. We chose to install a ground source heat pump system to achieve their desires. The system was installed with a well field serving multiple indoor water source heat pumps zoned to serve specific exposures of the building. The system was installed without electric backup heating with dictated redundant pumps, etc. The system has been in operation since 1999 and has proved to be very reliable and very low in operating cost.
As this is their corporate headquarters, the electrical distribution system includes a diesel generator to provide emergency power to their computer system in the event of power failures.
