PLACES OF WORSHIP First United Methodist ChurchThis project is a new church facility for a rapidly expanding membership in Lawrence, Kansas. The Mechanical system includes indoor air handling units with electric heating and direct expansion cooling with remote air cooled condensing units. The main worship area is provided with two air handling units with DDC controls to stage the units in response to loading of this area. The main office and classroom areas are conditioned via indoor air handling unit with direct expansion cooling and remote air cooled condensing units. This unit is equipped with VVT controls consisting of VAV terminals with electric heating coils. The electrical system is based on 120/208 volt serving HVAC equipment, lighting, and power needs. The lighting system design is fluorescent fixtures equipped with energy efficient T8 lamps and solid state ballasts for office and classroom areas with a combination of fluorescent and incandescent fixtures for the main worship area.
